Local AI

AI on your own servers, where your data has to stay

Law firms, tax advisers, medical practices and companies with strict data rules ask whether AI can run without data leaving the building. Often it can. We assess whether local operation is worth it for your task, then set it up, secure it and keep it running.

In short

We run AI models on your own servers where data must not leave your network, and in EU regions where that is enough. The decision depends on data sensitivity, the quality your task needs, volume and the IT capacity you have for operation. We set up, secure and maintain local models (for example with Ollama or vLLM) inside the workflows we build for you. The written proposal and terms govern scope, credit and any refund.

When local is worth it

Local operation is a trade-off, not a badge

A local model can keep prompts and outputs in your network if cloud features, connected applications and outbound traffic are set up and checked accordingly. In return, you carry hardware and operation, and for some tasks the quality may be lower than with the largest cloud models. We measure the difference on your own cases instead of assuming it.

Professional secrecy and strict rules

Where a mandate, a contract or a regulator rules out external processing, local operation is often the only route. We document how data flows so your data protection officer can check it.

  • Steady, high volume

Thousands of similar documents a month can make your own hardware cheaper than paying per request. We calculate it with your volume and dated public prices.

  • Narrow, well-defined tasks

Classifying, extracting fields and drafting standard replies are good candidates for smaller open models. Test their accuracy on your cases before deciding, especially for long or complex documents.

  • When EU cloud is the better step

If data may be processed in the EU under a data processing agreement, AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI in EU regions give you larger models without running hardware.

  • The tools

Ollama and LM Studio make local models easy to try. For several users and steady load we use a production server such as vLLM, with authentication in front of it.

Data protection

Know where every byte goes

Local does not automatically mean private. Some local tools can also call cloud models or web search. We configure and test the setup so data stays where you decided.

Configured, not assumed
Cloud features of local tools are switched off where data must stay local, and we check connected applications too.
Access and logs
Who may use the model, what is logged and how long logs are kept is agreed in writing before go-live.
Model licences
Open models come with different licences. We check the licence of each model for commercial use before it runs in your company.
Data processing agreement
Where we operate the system, a data processing agreement is signed before any data access, including the technical measures.

How it starts

From the question to a running model

  1. Intro call

    Free

You describe the task and your data rules. We tell you whether local operation, EU cloud or a mix fits.

  2. Trial run

from €2,500 · credited against implementation; refunded if we advise against automation

We test candidate models on your real cases and compare quality, speed and cost. The written proposal and terms govern scope, credit and any refund.

  3. Implementation and care

One workflow about €3,000 to €5,000 · hardware quoted separately

Fixed fee for the workflow. Hardware, hosting and care are quoted separately. In monthly care we run the workflow, fix errors and adapt it as your processes change.

The implementation of one contained workflow costs about €3,000 to €5,000. Projects with several processes and systems cost more, and the fixed fee is in your proposal before work starts. Ongoing care starts at €250 per month per workflow. 30 min · remote · no obligation. And if AI isn't the right tool, we'll say so.

Questions about local AI

01Is a local model as good as ChatGPT or Claude?

It depends on the task. Narrow tasks such as sorting, extracting or drafting standard text are good candidates for smaller open models; for long and complex documents, compare local and cloud candidates on the same cases before deciding. We measure it on your cases.

02What hardware do we need?

It depends on model size, the number of users and response time. A single server with a suitable graphics card covers many SME tasks. We size it from your volume, not from a catalogue.

03Can we start without buying hardware?

Yes. A dedicated GPU server in an EU data centre lets you test and run local models before deciding on your own hardware.

04Who maintains the model?

We can, as part of the monthly care: we run the system, fix errors and adapt it as your processes change. What exactly is included is agreed in the proposal.

05Is local AI GDPR compliant by default?

No technology is compliant by itself. Local operation can avoid sending prompts to a model provider; who hosts, maintains and accesses the system still decides whether processors are involved. Access, logs, deletion and purpose need clear rules, which we document with you. The implementation of one contained workflow costs about €3,000 to €5,000. Projects with several processes and systems cost more, and the fixed fee is in your proposal before work starts. Ongoing care starts at €250 per month per workflow.
